Come to Java Time!

All ITS staff are invited to the first CIO Java Time which will be on Monday, July 27 from 1:30 - 2:30 pm in the Conference Center, Room C.

What is Java Time? Well, frankly, I deeply miss the opportunity to regularly interact with many ITS team members, and so one way I'm trying to fix that is with Java Time. Java Time will be held every other month, and it's a very informal setting for anyone in ITS to hear directly from me about pertinent issues, ask questions (about those issues, or about anything else), and just have a relaxed discussion. Java Time is NOT like an ITS staff meeting, it's designed to be much more informal. I'll begin Java Time with a short briefing -- no more than 10 minutes -- and then the rest of the time will be open for discussion. As the name implies, there will be light refreshments -- including coffee -- and you can feel free to come or leave in the middle if your schedule doesn't allow you to attend the entire 1-hour session.

You can also submit questions in advance using the form at tinyurl.com/ciojavatime. Submissions from this web page are totally anonymous, in case you have a question that you don't feel comfortable asking in person.

So please come if you can make it, and bring your questions, either in person or in advance! I'll post a record to this blog of the questions and answers after the Java Time, for those who couldn't make it. At the July Java Time, I'll present a briefing on Accessible, Open, and Responsive -- which is the core of our service promise to our clients, and the theme on which we'll be concentrating this coming year.
